What is Graphic Design?


Graphic Design is the methodology of visual communication, and problem solving through the use of type, space and image. It is the production of visual statements on some surface, such as a wall, canvas, pottery, computer screen, paper, stone or landscape.

Common uses of graphic design include identity (logos and branding), publications (magazines, newspapers and books), print advertisements, posters, billboards, website graphics and elements, signs and product packaging.

Pictograph


A pictogram, also called pictograph, or simply picto, and also an 'icon', is an ideogram that convey its meaning through its pictorial resemblance to a physical object. Pictography is a form of writing which uses representational, pictorial drawings, similarly to cuneiform and, to some extent, hieroglyphic writing, which also uses drawings as phonetic letters or determinative rhymes.

 

Icon


An icon is generally a flat panel painting depicting Jesus, Mary, saints and angels, which is venerated among Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and in certain Eastern Catholic Churches. Icon is image that representing something and it can be formed in any various figures.

  

Symbol


A symbol is something used for or regarded as representing something else. Symbol can also be defined as a letter, figure, or other character or combination of letters or the like used to designate something. An object that represents, stands for an idea, visual image, or material entity is also defined as symbol.

 

Hieroglyph


A hieroglyph or sacred writing is a character of the ancient Egyptian writing system. Hieroglyph inscribed with hieroglyphic symbols, which also a figure or symbol with hidden meaning and hard to read.

Based on my research, I made up some sketches in order to develop my idea.
