As they’d create some great and ground-breaking masterpiece that hardly be imagine during those days. The most famous artists evergreen, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael. Those three artists were the great artists among all. Realism. That was the style that they used in their artwork. In the early Roman art around 510 BCE to 270 BCE, the romans tended to be realistic and direct. As if they made a portrait, the portrait itself either to be 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional. Usually the portrait will be detailed and un-idealized without focusing on propaganda. For example, we can see on the Column of Marcus Aurelis which was created around 180-193 BCE. It is a Doric Column featuring a spiral relief and was built in honour of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelis and model past on Trajan’s Column. After that, eroticism also popularly figured into the paintings of Ancient Rome and for example, Triumphal painting were very important to romans as they showcase important military victories or events from wars. In fact, one of the older romans paintings discovered in a tomb is a scene of soldiers and their weapons.

Next, Rome is famous for its sculpture and find art painting but many not know that they also work on decorative art such as music, jewelry, and ivory carving. Back then, all of their works were handmade. Indeed, sculptors and find art paintings practiced by romans were executed perfectly using either bronze, marble statuary or murals for example Phidias or pheidias was a Greek sculptor, painter and architect who lived in the 5th century BC, and is commonly regarded as one of the greatest of all sculpture and one of his great artwork is Lemnian Athena. The Lemnian Athena was a classical great statue of the goddess Athena. According to Pausanias, the original bronze was created by Phidias circa 450-440 BCE.

After that, Romans prefer extreme realism when it came to portraiture even of emperor and their families. Furthermore, the usage of colour their painting are for freshness and vivid. The freedom and vigor of the drawing, would seem to indicate that even from this ancient days, Italy was the home of painters of great talent. During 12th century to the 8th century BC, brown painting in the vases called geometrical style. In the next period the figure of man and gods to be more realistic and were painted in black on the red clay. But the most obvious we can see about Romans style is their eroticism artworks. It was a part from Romans attitude and to understand the Romans, it is necessary to understand their bedroom practiced.

Equally important, The Romans art can be found either Pompeii or Herculaneum. Pompeii is a town in Italy which was an ancient Romans town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania. As also as at Herculaneum, an ancient Romans town, this was destroyed by volcanic pyroclastic flows in 79 AD.
